2012 Group Hotel Options
We have been able to secure blocks of rooms for the Chicago meet, which is scheduled for February 10-12, 2012.
There are two options available, Homewood Suites and the Downtown Marriott. Marriott offers a standard room at $129 per night, with no breakfast included. There are food and beverage options at the hotel. Homewood has matched the price of $129 for a king suite, which has a separate bedroom with a king bed, then a living area with a pull out sleeper sofa and a kitchen. This is suitable for a family of 4 and I believe a rollaway can be added as well. If you want a room with two beds, the rate is $169 per night. Homewood Suites offers a hot breakfast in the morning with eggs, waffles, etc. They also offer a dinner on week nights, as some of us arrived on a Thursday.
You are free to book which ever option you like. However many stated at Homewood last year and I have only reserved a block of 30 rooms, so please get them booked asap in order to make sure you have one. You do have to put in your credit card information, but they do not charge until the time of the stay. Below is the link to Homewood’s special reservation page for LGA only, and you can go to this and the rate will already be present. Please reserve online if possible, that is the easiest. You can reserve for 4 days or whatever you choose, then make changes once we get the schedule.
For Marriott, all families wishing to stay there needs to contact Sue Dillion from our team, as she will be handling the reservations for Marriott. Please get your requests in as soon as possible, as it also a first come, first serve. Please have all requests for Marriott to Sue no later than November 1, 2011. A one night deposit of $129 will be charged on your card in advance, probably around the 30th of November once the reservation is actually processed.
So, whatever option you choose, I would suggest getting the information over soon rather than later, so make sure you can get in on one of the room blocks. If you have any questions, please let Tami or Sue know.
